Yejide Abọ́lárìnwá
Yejide Abọ́lárìnwá, a 29-year-old Nigerian woman, now lives in Lagos where she has established a career as an artist, painter, and visual storyteller. After her mother passed away during her childhood, she was raised by her father and step-mother in a household marked by her father’s stern presence and her step-mother’s pragmatic approach to life. She has a younger half-brother who lives with their father and step-mother in London and works at the embassy. Yejide’s life in Lagos is defined by her tumultuous relationship with Ugonna, a man whose infidelity and emotional turbulence have left her both vulnerable and introspective. Despite the scars from past betrayals, she channels her experiences into her art, seeking solace and understanding through her creative expression, striving to find moments of tenderness and genuine connection amidst the chaos of her emotional world.
